African Council on Narcotics (ACON) is a non-governmental organization (NGO). The council undertakes advocacy, counseling and research on illicit trafficking and abuse of narcotics and psychotropic substances among other Drug Demand Reduction (DDR) activities. We also undertake treatment/rehabilitation (T&R), referrals and aftercare support. The primary mandate of our council is to improve on the quality of mental and social life of young people, and to consequently empower them to live drug-free and healthy lifestyles.

African Council on Narcotics (ACON) plans to set up 1000 virtual Drug-Free Clubs in Secondary Schools to foster drug abuse prevention among teenagers in Nigeria. This project will create critical awareness to support substance abuse prevention education among Nigeria children in other to check their increasing involvement in the substance abuse culture.
