Areas of interest:
Right to education
Where every youth, right from childhood is able to receive basic education and has access to information that helps him/her in their day to day tasks. We have been working closely with Open Con to empower Kenyan youth on advance in open access, open education and open data, this will be realized by our effort with the support of OpenCon,in organizing events and workshop for the student that encourage them to donate a book or two to our organization instead of burning them in the so 'academic fire' and give a needy education thirsty kid in remote areas a chance to access education that he/she may find some 'sunlight' or hope for future.
Free youth from illicit drugs
In Kenya the most abused drugs are illicit brew and marijuana, the majority of those who abuse this substances are the youth.Recent statistic in year 2017 undertaken by country meters Kenya, quotes that over 85\% of Kenyan population is composed of youth.YFYNET encourages peer counseling where we train counselors in learning institution to advocate against drugs and ensure continuity of advocacy work through YFYNET student representatives in the institutions. We are also members at World Federation Against Drugs where we learn much on prevention and advocacy work though journals and conferences.
Fight on HIV/AIDS
We encourage those youth living with HIV/AIDS to accept their status and lead in war on HIV/AIDS, by informing them that they are very important in transforming our society, we also educate our members that any one can be HIV positive so lets embrace those already affected since they are part of our society and its no crime being HIV positive.
