Description: UTRIP is a non-governmental and a non-profit research institute. It aims to conduct research, develop, implement, monitor and evaluate the projects and programmes in the field of youth risk behaviour, addiction prevention, health promotion, healthy lifestyle and public health advocacy. UTRIP is a member of the European Alcohol Policy Alliance (Eurocare), the Civil Society Forum on Drugs (CSFD), the Society for Prevention Research (SPR), the International Confederation of ATOD Research Associations (ICARA), Movendi International etc. It has been involved in more than 25 European projects, co-financed by the European Commission under the Health Programme, the Drug Policy Initiatives Programme, the Erasmus Plus Programme, the Justice Programme etc. UTRIP is a national centre for evidence-based prevention programmes Unplugged, Good Behavior Game (GBG), Boys and Girls Plus, EFFEKT and The Strengthening Families Program (SFP) (by Prof Karol Kumpfer).

Prestigious prevention award in the hands of UTRIP's staff this year. It is with great pleasure to announce that the Recognition and Honors Committee with nominations from the membership of the Society for Prevention Research (SPR ) has selected the team of Matej Košir and Sanela Talić, Director and Head of Prevention Programmes at the Institute for Research and Development »Utrip«, to receive the 2020 International Collaborative Prevention Research Award. The SPR International Collaborative Prevention Research Award is given to an individual or a team of individuals for contributions to the field of prevention science in the area of international collaboration.
