Drug Policy Futures and national affiliates from around the globe has embarked on a ten-year monitoring programme where we will follow the implementation of the UNGASS Outcome Document in a number of selected countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas.
In the periode up to 2029 the aim is to produce three or four status reports where we document what is happening at the national level and where UNGASS implementation is lagging behind.
The side-event will present key results from our first monitoring report and focus on these issues, among others: National drug strategies, reducing drug use prevalence, prevention strategies, mobilization of local communities and of parents groups, role of self-help methods, special needs of women. What has happened in these areas since UNGASS in 2016?
At the side-event, conclusions from the report will be presented briefly by representatives of the host organisations and then commented by national representatives.
