State Resource Centre (SRC) and Missing Children and Women Helpline No.- 1800 345 7055 at Ranchi and Integrated Rehabilitation cum Resource Centre (IRRC) cum National Trafficking Helpline No. 10852 at New Delhi for trafficked and missing children and women is an initiative towards trafficking free Jharkhand. These helplines are a medium for rescue, repatriation & rehabilitation of children and women from trafficking and unsafe migration. BKS is focusing on 72 care plans for providing protection and securing rights to children. Need-based education, holistic development and financial independence of these children are the significant parts of this plan.
To build the necessary awareness and encouragement towards self-employment and enterprise creation among the masses (through gatherings, nukkad nataks, in-person sessions, etc.), call-back the prospects assigned through the MIS portal and gather relevant information from the same to complete the aspirant’s profile, understand and guide the aspirant through the necessary skill and entrepreneurship development programs supported by the Government, make attempts to help them refine their enterprise plans and keep track of how well the enterprise is performing over a period through regular check-ins.
Child Protection & Advocacy Programme in MICA mining areas of Koderma in Jharkhand in which its goal is establishment of child exploitation free villages by providing complete early childhood education and school preparedness to children between 3-6 years of age, 80% of children between 6-14 years of age achieve grade appropriate academic and co-curricular competency, Bal Manch at the village/Block/District level act as Change Agents in 100% villages, Village level Institutions (PRI/SMC/VLCPC/SHGs/VHSNCs etc.) actively addressing child right issues, livelihoods of parents are strengthened to address the needs of the children and Community members are sensitized on rights of the children and access maximum welfare schemes of the government.
BKS has been playing a strong role in advocacy and training part. BKS has been able to provide a number of state, district and block level advocacy and training on water, health and sanitation, child labour and human trafficking, child working in mica mines, adoption and non-institutional care and migrant and education issues to different stake holders like Police Officials, JJB Members, CWC members, Judicial members, Private and Public Organization representatives, General Public, NGOs, Education Department and other government departments. Many advocacy meetings have been organized time to time on different issues with different stakeholders.
BKS has organized trainings to the women farmers groups on value addition to the agro produces and their linkages to market. BKS focuses on the development of agriculture with infusion of latest agricultural technologies. BKS has been consistently working with farmers focusing on awareness generation on latest technologies in agriculture and methods to increase their production. Groups of women farmers had been developed and were capacitated with techniques of cultivating high yielding crops. Many women in Arki and Pakuria block had became self sustainable through agriculture.
1) A study on how children are getting exploited using online platforms supported by Equations during the COVID-10 period. 2) An Analysis of the Status of Unorganized Sector Workers in Jharkhand: Transfer of Livelihood Sector in the Context of COVID-19 conducted by BKS. 3) Conducted a Study on Status of Human Trafficking in Jharkhand supported by Dr. Deen Dayal Tribal Welfare and Research Institute, Ranchi, Jharkhand (under Welfare Dept.) Govt. Of Jharkhand. 4) Conducted a National Study on Education Status of Traditional Sex Workers in India covering 5 states namely Delhi, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan supported by National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), New Delhi in 2018. 5) Conducting a Fact finding Survey in respect to well being of children and child labour working in the MICA mining areas of Koderma and Giridih of Jharkhand supported by National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), New Delhi in 2018 etc.
BKS’s health and sanitation programme aims to provide healthy life and good sanitation practice among different individuals of the society. BKS has been running different projects like Promote Sustainable Sanitation in Rural India, formation of village health committees, renovation of pond, Handpump in different villages of Ranchi etc.
BKS through Public Private Partnership creates equal opportunities of employments for the women of Minority section of society. BKS is presently implementing a project named Swavalamban which is a training programme for vulnerable youths and girls particularly for victims or survivors of trafficking or any other abuse in which girls and women are being trained on different trades like security guard, beautician and hospitality & housekeeping so that they can live their life of dignity. BKS’s women empowerment is aimed to empower women and make them independent. BKS runs a women empowerment programme that aims to empower women on their rights and stand against their violence and become strong so that they can be a leader. The project that BKS runs is:

BKS is running a Children Home in Jharkhand with the support of (JSCPS) Dept. of women, Child Development and Social Security Govt. of Jharkhand namely “Balkunj” situated at West Singhbhum, Jharkhand. The children home is residential Child Care Institution for Child in Need of Care & Protection, Registered under JJ Act 2015 by ICPS Govt. of Jharkhand. While our efforts are to provide children with a safe, healthy and enabling atmosphere, we also focus on their all-round personality development. We use various methods to help them transform themselves into positive-thinking. Our intensive focus is on Yoga, Art Therapy, Assisted Psycho-therapy, Sports, exposure to literature and science and the development of different livelihood and life skills. BKS work to create a safe, nurturing environment for children in need who would not otherwise have access to opportunities that would better their lives.
BKS’s education programme aims to improve conditions of children especially girls by educating them and mainstreaming them to schools following the enactment of the Right to Education Act by the Government. BKS is nominated as State level Mother NGO by Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) for Hard to Reach Children like Migratory Children, Child Labour, and Survivor of Trafficking. Presently it is running two schools namely 1) Devendra Nath Singh High School which is situated in Tangar, Bijupara, Chanho, Ranchi and 2) Ram Nath Nayak High School which is situated in Akhtan, Burmu, Ranchi which are affiliated by State Govt. Jharkhand with the initiative to mainstream poor, vulnerable, drop out children via formal schools and help these children achieve their goal.
CHILDLINE works for the Protection of rights of all children aged from 0 to 18. Their special focus is on all children in need of care and protection, especially the more vulnerable sections. It also helps children who are in need of care and protection. CHILDLINE No. is –1098. CHILDLINE receives an average a million calls a years and CHILDLINE rescues about 3, 00,000 children annually. BKS is implementing the CHILDLINE Service since 2010 at Pakur as Nodal Organization and at Dhanbad as Collaborative Organization.
