Objective to help youth in school avoid the initiation of Drug Abuse or, if they have started already, to avert the development of Drug Abuse disorders (harmful substance use or dependence). The general aim of the Drug Abuse Prevention, however, is much broader than this: it is to contribute to the wider aim to create and maintain a school environment that is conducive for the safety, health, and well-being of students so that they can realize their full potential and become contributing members of their community and society.
